About Peanut Butter Hats
Hello. My name is Phil Berg and I am a 24 year old gentle man from Providence, Rhode Island. Peanut Butter Hats came to fruition in the heart of New York City in Times Square many years ago. A great artist by the name of Para B. was drawing some amazing graffiti on pretty much anything he could find; shirts, shoes, hats, you name it. So I bought a hat and he proceeded to wreak fantastical havoc upon it. A few weeks later, the hat was destroyed in a brutal mud volleyball tournament. So naturally, I replaced it with my own first design. And I just kept going, making new hats for friends and family, and it just kept growing from there, eventually setting up shop on Providence's West Side.
I draw inspiration from many artists, namely Ken Wong, Galdor, ABC Bombers, and any of the amazing Burners tagging up the railways from Braunschweig to Hannover. Graffiti is a big part of where modern art is headed and the world should embrace it. My biggest musical influences are Nas, NoFX, Zapp & Roger, Roots, De La Soul, MF DOOM and Ratatat. Anyone with a fresh attitude towards music is a welcome addition to my library.
The biggest influence and the source of my talent would be God. Gotta give the credit to where it is due. Without him I'd probably face down dead in an alley in Munich.
And of course the best and friendliest people in the city I live in. Always providing an interesting outlook on the world. Never afraid to show their originality and the special stuff that makes up their fantastical brains.
Oh, to pass my time when I'm not drawing I enjoy playing NES at 5am, collecting part-time jobs, Rubik's cubes, and hosting ballin' parties at the mansion.
